Meditation

When we practise walking meditation we walk just for walking not to arrive...
- Thich Nhat Hanh

Meditation is a sitting or walking practice that helps us to focus on the breathe, the present moment, the here and now. Regular practise can have great benefits over time. I have been practising meditation for over 20 years and I have seen significant changes in myself from my practise, it is worth persevering as the benefits really do pay off!

Regular practise of sitting still for 15- 20 minutes a day, giving yourself the time as part of self care, can have a knock-on effect on the rest of your day or even the following day. It helps to create clarity  and a gap and space between thoughts that make a difference to everyday life. Meditation practice involves patience and time, it really is worth the discipline and persistence
as it has profound benefits.

Benefits of Meditation – personal benefits I have noticed:

  • Peace

  • Clarity

  • Centred, grounded

  • Present in the moment

  • Calmness, reduces stress

  • Greater inner strength to deal with life’s challenges

  • Energising

  • Enhanced sleep

  • Deep Relaxation

I offer Meditation sessions for small groups. The meditation session includes:

  • Mindfulness meditation,

  • Breathe meditation

  • Body scan/body awareness

  • Walking meditation

  • Mantra meditation

Meditation is integrated within my Qi Gong and Tai Chi classes. We usually undertake a fifteen minute session at the end of each class. Mindfulness is about being in the here and now, the present moment. I incorporate this is in all Chi Kung and Tai chi classes.

Meditation is offering your genuine presence to yourself in every moment...
